  REAL Mathematics™

Student collage REAL Mathematics™ is a series
of books that present superb lessons for grades 6 through 14—lessons that have been proven effective for:
  • Mathematics classrooms
  • Independent study
  • Professional development
  • Home education
  • Gifted students

The core of the REAL Mathematics™ series is solving problems of real mathematics. The math problems in the REAL Mathematics™ series require thinking, planning strategies, experimenting, discussing, and writing. Technology—calculators, computer software, and programming—is used when appropriate for a problem. This series of motivational "lessons that work" is based upon the author's many years of teaching in mathematics classrooms of grades 6 through 14 and presenting professional development classes for mathematics teachers.

Books in the REAL Mathematics™ series are:
  • Number Wonder - Available
  • Geometric Delight - Available
  • Classic Thinking Games with Java - Available
  • More Classic Thinking Games with Java - Coming in 2008
  • Simulations as Solutions - Coming in 2009
  • Number Wonder II - Coming in 2010

The books can be used as supplements to traditional textbooks for most students or as stand-alone textbooks for accelerated students. The engaging ideas presented add excitement to learning mathematics.
